Dorothy H. (Kowalski) Corish

Dorothy Henrietta (Kowalski) Corish, 85, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024 at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow. Born in Ludlow on November 19, 1938, to the late Henry and Stella (Workum) Kowalski, she was raised in Wilbraham before settling in East Longmeadow, where she raised her family. Dorothy's love for golf was evident throughout her life. An avid and gifted golfer, she was a member of both Hampden and Elmcrest Country Clubs for over three decades. Her dedication to the sport extended beyond local courses; she was an active participant in numerous golf leagues, including a traveling league that took her to various courses across Massachusetts. Even as a snowbird in Sun City Center, Florida, Dorothy continued her passion for golf, enjoying the links all winter long. Her enthusiasm for sports extended to her love of New England Sports, especially the Patriots and Red Sox.  Dorothy was a fantastic cook who created many delicious meals, with her famous spaghetti being a particular favorite among her family. However, Dorothy's greatest joy came from being a devoted mother and grandmother. Her unwavering support and love were a constant source of strength for them.

She leaves her loving husband of 66 years, Paul Corish; her children, Shaun Corish and his wife Angeli of Belchertown and Cheryl Kabeli and her husband Saby of Plattsburgh, NY; her grandchildren, Kiernan, Mia, and Sophie; her sisters and their spouses, Betty and Bob Siwicki of Wilbraham and Virginia and Bob Makuch of Hampden, along with other extended family members and friends.

Services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave., Springfield with Calling Hours from 10am-12pm followed by a Funeral Home Service at 12pm. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield.
