Edward Allen Bernard, 62, passed away at home on April 17, 2024. Born in Springfield on January 9, 1962 to Joan (Terzi) Staples and the late Harold Bernard, he was a lifelong area resident. Ed worked for 15 years as an assembler of aerospace parts for Triumph Group. An avid motorcycle rider and enthusiast, he relished the thrill of the open road and the camaraderie of fellow riders. Saturday mornings were reserved for exhilarating rides, where he would rev up his bike, accompanied by his beloved wife and friends. Their adventures were not just about the destination but the shared moments of freedom, laughter, and exploration along the way. Ed's larger-than-life personality left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. His genuine warmth and happiness endeared him to all, forging lasting connections and cherished friendships wherever he went.
He leaves his wife, Sharon Martins-Bernard; his mother and step-father, Joan and Ralph Staples of Maine; His sons, Alex Bernard of Palmer and Nicholas Bernard and his fiancé Marie Valliere of Monson; his brothers, Arnold Bernard and his fiancé Kathy Jurkowski of Wilbraham and Peter Bernard and his wife Elizabeth of Stafford, CT; his step-son, Evan LeBeau; his granddaughter, Ellianne LeBeau, along with other family members and many friends.
Calling Hours will be held at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 4-6pm followed by a Celebration of Ed’s Life at 6pm.
